I’ve had the opportunity to work on this very special project by the end of 2018, when I was invited by my friends from Berro Motion (Porto Alegre - Brazil) to partner up and create some key visuals to promote the brazilian edition of Red Bull Amaphiko Festival.

The social innovation event took place at Grajaú, a huge district of São Paulo which is very rich in terms of culture and diversity, but struggles economically. So the idea of Red Bull Brazil was to empower the people and help local talents to transform their dreams into community development, providing them with a space for creativity and guidance. And our mission was to communicate that, showing this diverse scenario and emphasizing that actions as simple as look around, listen to others, put your hands on and spreading the results can help to build a better place for everybody.

After defining the messaging and core elements of the illustrations, I've started some studies on graphic elements to compose visuals as diverse as the Grajaú environment. The solution I've found was combining the always present nature with the street style vibe you can see on every corner of the district. Also a few color schemes were tested and sent to the client so we could figure out which one would be the best match with the diversity we were trying to represent, yet being aligned with Red Bull Amaphiko Festival brand guidelines.

Finally, the four illustrations approved by the client turned into key visuals with the festival branding and the tapes with content applied to it, which my great friends at Berro Motion transformed into the super cool video you can see in the end.
